David has been a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society since 1999 and was appointed a Fellow in 2010. He’s had a Private Pilot’s Licence since he was 17 and holds a degree in Transport Management from the University of Plymouth.Meanwhile,He also has experience as a former Executive Vice President of Qatar Airways and 15 years with Gama Aviation, where latterly he headed the company’s expansion into the Middle and Far East, as well as serving on the group’s board. As Chief Executive of the Air Charter Association,David led that organisation
through a significant period of change and growth and represented the sector to government and regulators during the Brexit transition and Covid-19. David is a strong advocate for diversity, inclusion and encouraging the next generation of talent to join the aviation and aerospace industries. He was elected as Chief Executive of the RAes on 20 September, 2021.

Giampaolo Buticchi’s research focuses on power electronics for renewable energy systems, smart transformer fed micro-grids and grids for the More Electric Aircraft. He is author/co-author of more than 300 international peer-reviewed papers in the reference journals and conferences for power electronics. As the Deputy General Manager of ACCEL (Tianjin) Flight Simulation Co., Ltd., with more than 12 years of experiences in flight simulation industry, Henry is now responsible for leading the product engineering teams of Full Flight Simulator / eVTOL Simulation and Training Solution segments, managing all of the simulation system / integration / software engineering and developing tasks, while supporting the full life-cycle development of the Full Flight Simulators.

Henry masters the interdisciplinary approach in the system/integration/software engineering process starting from customer requirements capture/collection to system design and implementation, and software and hardware integration. Henry is also a Subject Matter Expert with extensive knowledge of Chinese Aviation Regulations (CCAR Part 60) and associated industry standards, providing technical inputs in the organization level technology and product road-mapping process. Henry also been dispatched abroad twice for technical exchange, during when attending the FSEMC (Flight Simulator Engineering and Maintenance Conference) in the United States at 2018, while giving a keynote speech on ADS-B IN topic.

Weng Haimin, the founder and CEO of Boundary.AI, has been studying aviation since college, from NUAA in China, to NTU in Singapore and TUM in Germany. After returning to China, he has more than 10 years of aviation research and development experience. He was the head of SF Technology's UAV research and development department and the CTO of AutoFlight. He led the team to complete the research and development of several eVTOL products, and has rich transnational technical cooperation and management experience.

Derek Cheng is the Head of Asia-Pacific at Vertical Aerospace. He is responsible for leading all commercial, business and partnership development activities for Vertical in the Asia-Pacific region.
He was previously Head of Asia-Pacific for Airbus Urban Mobility, the dedicated programme division for Airbus’ cargo drones and eVTOLs.

From 2016-2021, Derek held various positions in Airbus’ HQ in Toulouse, and was at last appointment the Head of Asia-Pacific for Government & Public Affairs, and Strategic Partnerships for Airbus Group; responsible for international business development strategies, industrial and sustainable aviation partnerships, based in Singapore.

Prior to joining Airbus, Derek was with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) for 7 years, and flew as a pilot in the Singapore Air force.

He has a Masters of Philosophy in Technology Policy from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK, and trained in Aerospace Engineering (first class honours) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, USA.

Graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BeiHang University), and previously worked at COMAC, Lei was responsible for the design, development, and testing of the C919 composite wing project. He also served CR929 as the engineering manager, responsible for wing design and development. Joined Volkswagen Group China in 2020, as Chief UAM Engineer of V.MO, Lei led the general design, manufacturing integration, and testing of the prototypes. Dr. Yuping QIAN received the Ph.D. degree in Fluid machinery and engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA). Following a postdoctoral research, he worked as an assistant research fellow in the Turbo Hybrid & Electric Propulsion Laboratory in the School of Vehicle and Mobility of Tsinghua University since 2016. Recently, his research activity has focused on the turbo thermo-fluids of automotive and aircraft engines. A major emphasis has been on turbo hybrid power and turbo electric propulsion systems.
