SNAP Aviation Professionals Social Series - Taicang Rothenburg Oktoberfest

First SNAP cross-city event——Taicang German Rothenburg Beer Festival

      

Last weekend, the Royal Aeronautical Society China Office successfully held a new SNAP (Social Network of Aviation Professionals) series of activities. More than 20 representatives from various aviation companies and related units in the industry chain participated in the fifth SNAP Taicang German Rothenburg Beer Festival special event.

During the event, everyone visited the Taicang Campus of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and the GACP Global Aviation Cluster Alliance Acceleration Center. Afterwards, the participating guests and units held a SNAP aviation professionals exchange meeting.——

Shen Wenjia, the China representative of the Royal Aeronautical Society, introduced the historical background of the society and its development in China, put forward the significance of the SNAP event, and hoped that people in the industry would actively participate in it and talk about aviation and life.

Li Dongsheng, a representative of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), stressed the need to drive industrial development with demand, and to guide industrial layout and technological innovation through research and analysis of users' personalized needs.

Professor Shen Haijun, Director of the Institute of Aircraft Engineering, School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tongji University, praised Taicang as an ideal place to live and work, with rapid development in science and technology, especially aviation. He hopes to see more seeds of academic exchanges take root in Taicang in the future.

Xu Lan, deputy director of Taicang Investment Promotion Bureau, delivered a speech on behalf of the event supporting units, expressing warm welcome to everyone and wishing them a wonderful weekend in Taicang.

On behalf of Suzhou Aerospace Society, Li Dongqi introduced the profile of his own society, hoping to gather technology and talents in the aerospace field in Suzhou and the Yangtze River Delta region to help the development of Suzhou's aerospace industry.

As representatives of local enterprises, Suzhou Riverman Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and Northwestern Polytechnical University Taicang Yangtze River Delta Research Institute respectively introduced the development of their respective companies and related research projects and equipment.

Representatives of Taicang Investment Promotion Bureau, Chen Chunlong, Wang Rongrong and Lu Zhiyang, introduced the city profile and development vision of Taicang. Taicang is positioned as an emerging aviation industry city in the Yangtze River Delta, with many national and provincial enterprise technology centers.

Finally, we went to the Taicang Beer Festival venue. German Restaurant & BarWe drank German beer, enjoyed classic German food, exchanged ideas in a relaxed and warm atmosphere, and spent a pleasant dinner time. At the same time, outdoor light and shadow shows, costume parades and other activities took turns to be staged; after dinner, everyone visited the square stage, the Sino-German Night Market, the riverside beer garden, etc., immersed in an exotic atmosphere. 

 

This SNAP event is the first time to be held across provinces. We would like to express our special thanks to the Taicang Investment Promotion Bureau for its strong support. In the future, the society will also maintain contact and exchanges with various units in the industry to launch more exciting activities.
