The Royal Aeronautical Society China (Shanghai) Representative Office was inaugurated in the Hongqiao Airport Economic Demonstration Zone

On November 18, the unveiling ceremony of the Royal Aeronautical Society’s China (Shanghai) Representative Office was held at the Hongqiao International Convention Center in Changning District, Shanghai.

Mr. Christopher Wood, Consul General of the British Consulate in Shanghai, and Mr. Xie Wenlan, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, jointly unveiled the plaque for the society and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Christopher Wood said: "With the completion of the China Representative Office, I believe that in the future, there will be more business cooperation and technical exchanges between enterprises and scholars in the field of aviation manufacturing between Britain and China, and jointly promote the popularization and development of aerospace technology."

 

Later, Xie Wenlan, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, said in his welcome speech: "The Royal Aeronautical Society China (Shanghai) Representative Office is the first overseas non-governmental organization registered in Shanghai with the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission as the business supervisory unit. I hope the society can better integrate into the construction of Shanghai's global science and technology innovation center."

 

 

Ms. Zhong Xiaomin, Deputy District Mayor of Changning District, Shanghai, Ms. Zhan Lei, Director of the Science and Technology Commission of Changning District, Shanghai, Mr. Sun Yin, Director of the Office of Hongqiao Airport Economic Zone, Changning District, Shanghai, Mr. Jiang Haishan, President of Shanghai Education International Exchange Association, Mr. Jin Hongming, Secretary General of Shanghai Aeronautical Society, and Mr. Shen Wenjia, China Representative of the Royal Aeronautical Society, came on stage to witness the unveiling and establishment of the society.

 

 

Mr. Shen Wenjia, representative of the Royal Aeronautical Society's China (Shanghai) Office, introduced the society's development history and future development direction in China. On behalf of the Royal Aeronautical Society, he presented banners to the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission and the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Economic Zone Office, respectively, to express his gratitude for their strong support and help in the process of the society's establishment in the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, China.

 

 

Founded in 1866 in London, the Royal Aeronautical Society is the oldest and most internationally influential aerospace professional society in the world, dedicated to the popularization and development of aerospace knowledge and technology on a global scale. In addition to the Academic Council, Member Council and Professional Council, the General Association also has 23 professional branches, including: civil aviation transportation, airworthiness and maintenance, avionics and systems, general aviation, environmental design, aviation history, structure and materials, drones and other professional fields.
